About

Witnessing birds and other animals in their natural environment makes me feel incredibly connected. The more time I spend in nature, the more I want to be a better steward for the planet. My hope is that the images I create inspire you to feel the same – reverent, connected, protective.

Taking classes in black and white film and darkroom started a love of photography that has lasted more than two decades. Studio classes led me to assist a commercial photographer and then to the Discovery Networks where I worked as a photo editor. Even after moving to an unrelated profession, I kept coming back to the camera.

My photography now centers around birds, wildlife and their habitat with a focus in conservation.  I’ve been honored to have photos featured on Audubon’s website and a conservation campaign to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and selected for the National Audubon Society 2019 Photography Awards Top 100. I also did a fun "Instagram Takeover” of Audubon’s account back in November 2019. My photos have placed in the North American Nature Photographers Association (NANPA) 2020 Showcase (Top 100/Conservation category) and 2019 Showcase (Top 250, Macro/Closeup category).

The creative part of photography also really drives me. I find experimenting with nature abstracts and portraiture an exciting way to communicate concepts. My self-portrait series “Disconnect” was part of a group show at The Front gallery and shown at Fringe Fest in New Orleans. Percolating behind the scenes are a couple of new series that blend creative and natural history photography and hope to get them out in the world soon.

I’m based in southeast Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans, an area with abundant bird life. I also travel in an effort to create photographs that celebrate and give a voice to the earth's amazing wildlife.

Thanks for visiting my site!
